ROMEO AND JULIET

"A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life"

Shakespeare's enduring tale of love and devotion, deceit and despair, ROMEO AND JULIET confronts each new generation with its passion and force. Two feuding families fight an undeclared war. When love invades the city, it sparks a chain of events with catastrophic consequences.  Emotions run high and violence lies barely beneath the surface in this haunting production which exudes all the action, comedy and poignant romance associated with one of Shakespeare's most accessible and best-loved plays.

RICHARD III

"Now is the winter of our discontent"

Richard III, the House of York's "bad seed," is a depraved man who could be called violent and fragile, evil and mad, shocking yet fascinating. As presented by Shakespeare, Richard is eloquent and intelligent but morally and physically deformed. He gains the throne through vile murder and treachery. Richard dominates the work with a combination of wit and wickedness that has fascinated audiences and made the role a popular one among actors. Don't miss this riveting tale of one of history's most malevolent monarchs.

Performance dates: December 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 2008
